A PHP & IOP For Young Adults
For young adults today, the pressure to stay calm, focused, and productive is real. Between academics, relationships, and life transitions, it’s no surprise that many turn to anti-anxiety medications like Xanax (alprazolam) to cope. But when occasional use becomes daily dependence—or when you start to feel like you need it to function—it may be time to pause and reassess your relationship with it.
At The Haven in Los Angeles, we specialize in treating young adults struggling with Xanax misuse, dependency, or co-occurring anxiety. Through our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), we help you break the cycle—without shame, blame, or judgment.
When Xanax Use Becomes a Problem
You may have started using Xanax to help with anxiety, panic attacks, or sleep. But over time, it might feel like:
- You can’t sleep, relax, or get through the day without it
- You’re running out of prescriptions too fast—or using someone else’s
- Your tolerance is growing and you need more to feel the same effect
- You feel foggy, disconnected, or emotionally flat
- You’re mixing Xanax with alcohol or other substances to take the edge off
- You’re hiding your use, or feel anxious without the drug now
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Many young adults struggle with benzodiazepine dependence—and most don’t fit the stereotype of what “addiction” looks like. At The Haven, we get it. And we can help.
Our Approach to Xanax Treatment in Los Angeles
We offer two flexible outpatient levels of care, designed to help you reduce or stop Xanax use while addressing the underlying mental health challenges that often drive it.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for Xanax Use
Our most structured outpatient program, PHP offers 5 days/week of daytime care in a safe, supportive environment—ideal if your Xanax use is affecting daily life.
PHP includes:
- A full psychiatric and substance use assessment
- 4–6 hours/day of group and individual therapy
- Medication taper planning and medical monitoring (if applicable)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Tools for managing panic, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation
- Relapse prevention strategies and skills for managing cravings
- Support for returning to school, work, and life without Xanax
- Optional family or partner involvement
- Drug testing and non-punitive accountability
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Xanax Use
If you’re stable enough to live independently but still need support, our IOP is a more flexible option—available in the afternoons and evenings.
IOP includes:
- 3–5 days/week of programming
- Weekly individual therapy and small group sessions
- Focus on anxiety, identity, and life transitions
- Skills for healthy emotional regulation without benzos
- Holistic coping strategies (sleep hygiene, mindfulness, movement)
- Ongoing medication management and check-ins
- Collaborative treatment planning and personalized goals
Both programs are offered at our Los Angeles location near UCLA and Westwood.
Why Choose The Haven?
🎯 Young Adult Expertise
Our programs are built just for people in their late teens and twenties—so you’ll be surrounded by peers who get what you’re going through.
🧠 Dual Diagnosis Support
Xanax misuse is often tied to anxiety, panic disorders, trauma, or burnout. Our licensed clinicians treat both the substance use and the mental health issues that come with it.
🚫 Tapering with Care, Not Fear
We understand the risks of stopping Xanax abruptly. While we don’t offer medical detox directly, it is often recommended. Our clients start treatment once they are medically cleared.
💬 Real Talk, No Judgment
Whether you’re ready to quit or just starting to ask questions about your use, we’ll meet you where you are—with honesty, compassion, and clinical insight.
🧩 Life Skills That Stick
We’ll help you rebuild confidence, reduce stress, and develop real-life strategies so you don’t need a pill to get through the day.
Insurance & Payment Options
We’re in-network with many major insurers and offer support with reimbursement, self-pay plans, and single-case agreements. Our admissions team will verify your benefits up front—so you’ll know what’s covered before you commit to care.
