Questions?

We Got Answers.

We understand clients and families often have many questions about treatment. While this is not an exhaustive list, please find some of our most common questions below about our PHP and IOP programs in Los Angeles. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any other questions you may have!

Is The Haven just for college students?

No! We have two programs. The Haven at College virtual program is our original program designed specifically for active and enrolled students at a California University. Our in-person PHP and IOP programs in Los Angeles are designed for and open to all young adults (ages 18-30).

Where is The Haven located?

We’re located in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA: 1015 Gayley Ave Suite 203, Los Angeles, CA 90024

How long does treatment last?

At The Haven, we know every person is going to have unique needs and no two treatment plans are alike. Generally, our PHP program (often referred to as day treatment), runs weekdays 5 days per week. PHP has a similar schedule as a residential treatment program, but unlike residential treatment, clients can return home or to sober living in the evening. This program is often 30-45 days.

Our IOP, or intensive outpatient, includes 3-hour sessions 3 days per week. This program can run 5 weeks or longer but is dependent on each client, their progress, and their goals.

I’m busy – do I have to put life on pause?

NO – that’s why The Haven exists! We understand the busy lives young people have, and we actually don’t believe in “shielding” clients. We understand that real growth happens in the real world. That’s why The Haven prefers intensive outpatient programs, such as IOP and PHP, compared to traditional inpatient treatment. We help our clients learn to manage recovery and everyday life.

What does The Haven treat?

The Haven specializes in a variety of common mental and behavioral health challenges that young people face. These include depression, anxiety, ADHD, substance use concerns, trouble in school, trauma, and more. Our programs combine psychiatric care (such as medications, when appropriate), evidence-based clinical care (psychotherapy), holistic therapies (music, art, and vocational support), and peer support.

While we can help many young adults, occasionally our clients may require a higher level of care before starting at The Haven, such as a medical detox program for chemical dependency. We always recommend speaking with one of our admission specialists to determine if The Haven is the right fit for you or a loved one.
